English Translation
I like going out with friends, but I also enjoy spending time alone.
On my last day off, there was a movie I wanted to see, so I thought about inviting a friend. But asking about everyone’s plans and finding a time that worked felt like a bit of a hassle, so I decided to go by myself.
After the movie, I was hungry, so I went into a nearby restaurant. There were several people eating alone at the counter, and I had lunch there too.
When you’re alone, you don’t have to discuss what to eat or where to go. If you find a place that interests you, you can go in, and if you get tired, you can simply go home.
Of course, some things are fun precisely because you do them with someone else.
But doing things alone doesn’t necessarily mean being lonely. On days when I want to spend time at my own pace, I think being “ohitorisama” can be pretty nice.
