金曜日の朝、天気予報を見ると、台風が近づいているというニュースが出ていました。
土曜日の午後から雨と風が強くなり、電車にも影響が出る可能性があるそうです。
私は土曜日に友達と出かける予定でしたが、無理に出かけないほうがよさそうだと思い、予定を日曜日に変更しました。
仕事から帰ったあと、ベランダを見ると、植木鉢やサンダルが置いたままになっていました。
風で飛ばされると危ないので、すべて室内に入れました。
そのあと、雨が強くなる前に近所の店へ行き、必要な食べ物や飲み物を少し買っておきました。
土曜日になると、予報どおり午後から雨が強くなりました。
電車の運行情報を確認すると、一部の電車が運休していました。
外を見ると風もかなり強かったので、前の日に予定を変更しておいてよかったと思いました。
天気は予定どおりにならないこともあります。
だからこそ、最新の情報を確認しながら、早めに準備することが大切だと感じました。

Useful Expressions
1. ～可能性がある — there is a possibility that
電車にも影響が出る可能性があるそうです。
There is a possibility that train services will also be affected.
Use ～可能性がある when something may happen, but it is not certain.
・雪のため、電車が遅れる可能性があります。
There is a possibility that trains will be delayed because of the snow.
2. ～たまま — left as it is / while still
植木鉢やサンダルが置いたままになっていました。
The plant pots and sandals had been left outside.
Use ～たまま when something remains in the same condition without being changed.
・窓を開けたまま出かけてしまいました。
I went out and accidentally left the window open.
3. ～ておく — to do something in advance
必要な食べ物や飲み物を少し買っておきました。
I bought some food and drinks in advance.
Use ～ておく when you do something beforehand to prepare for later.
・旅行の前にホテルまでの行き方を調べておきます。
I’ll check how to get to the hotel before the trip.
4. ～どおり — just as / according to
予報どおり午後から雨が強くなりました。
Just as forecast, the rain became heavier in the afternoon.
Use ～どおり when something happens in the same way as expected, planned, or described.
・予定どおり10時に出発しました。
We left at 10 o’clock as planned.
English Translation
On Friday morning, I checked the weather forecast and saw news that a typhoon was approaching.
It said that the rain and wind would become stronger from Saturday afternoon and that train services might also be affected.
I had plans to go out with a friend on Saturday, but I thought it would be better not to force myself to go out, so we changed our plans to Sunday.
After coming home from work, I looked at the balcony and noticed that some plant pots and sandals were still outside. They could be dangerous if they were blown away by the wind, so I brought everything inside.
After that, I went to a nearby shop before the rain became heavy and bought some food and drinks that I needed.
On Saturday, just as forecast, the rain became heavier in the afternoon. When I checked the train service information, I saw that some trains had been suspended.
The wind outside was also quite strong, so I was glad that we had changed our plans the day before.
The weather doesn’t always cooperate with our plans. This experience reminded me that it’s important to check the latest information and prepare early.
