Japanese Reading
ある日、仕事で着るシャツに汚れがついてしまいました。
家で洗おうか迷いましたが、大切なシャツだったので、クリーニング店へ持って行くことにしました。
店に入って、店員さんにシャツを渡しました。
店員さんは汚れを見て、「ここですね」と確認しました。
私は「この汚れ、きれいになりますか？」と聞きました。
店員さんは「やってみます」と答えました。
そのあと、仕上がりの日を教えてもらいました。
「金曜日の夕方から受け取れます」と言われました。
私は料金を払って、受け取り票をもらいました。
金曜日、仕事の帰りにもう一度店へ行きました。
受け取り票を見せると、きれいになったシャツを渡してくれました。
汚れもほとんど見えなくなっていて、安心しました。

Useful Expressions

～から can be used to show when something starts.

English Translation
One day, I got a stain on a shirt that I wear for work.
I wasn’t sure whether to wash it at home, but it was an important shirt, so I decided to take it to a dry cleaner.
I went into the shop and handed the shirt to the staff member.
They looked at the stain and said, “This spot here, right?”
I asked, “Do you think this stain will come out?”
The staff member replied, “We’ll try.”
After that, they told me when the shirt would be ready.
I was told, “You can pick it up from Friday evening.”
I paid the fee and received a claim ticket.
On Friday, I went back to the shop on my way home from work.
When I showed the claim ticket, they gave me my clean shirt.
The stain was almost gone, and I felt relieved.
